Supply augers and sub-hoppers move toner from the cartridge or bottle to the developer housing, and return surplus along the same path. Blockage or a broken auger starves the developer of toner.
Position matters: supply and return augers are different parts for the same machine, as are their drive couplings. Check for a blocked or packed pipe before replacing the auger.
Print fading part-way through a long run, a clicking auger, toner backing up in the cartridge or bottle, or toner starvation codes.
